Our Purpose
Our research fosters inclusive workplace environments that recognise the diverse roles of parents. We aim to achieve systemic change that values unpaid labour and supports parents in their professional and personal lives.
Our Vision
We seek to transform societal and organisational perceptions of parental roles, ensuring that both mothers and fathers receive equal support and opportunities. Our long-term goal is to strive for a fair distribution of unpaid work and recognition of the psychosocial well-being of parents, aiming for a cultural shift that values parenting as a critical societal contribution.
Conceptual ecosystem
Across the world, parents often find themselves having to choose between building a career and caring for their children—revealing a systemic failure in how work is organised. The Council reframes this as not being an individual constraint, but a product of institutional norms that privilege an “ideal worker” and render care invisible. By making these dynamics visible across workplaces, policies and everyday practices, we show how careers are structured through care rather than separate from it. Our work advances a redesign of systems—positioning care as essential infrastructure for equitable, sustainable and future-ready societies.
Parental leave is just the beginning.
